Born in Kailua, O‘ahu, and raised in Hilo and Puna, Hawai‘i, Lokelani Brandt has been with Keala Pono since 2011. As a child she attended Kula Kaiapuni ‘O Keaukaha and graduated from Ke Kula ‘O Nāwahī‘okalani‘opu‘u in 2005. Her early education has made her a fluent speaker of the Hawaiian language. After graduating from high school, she went on to receive her A.A. in 2008 from Hawai‘i Community College, and in 2012, she received her B.A. in Anthropology and minor in Hawaiian Studies from the University of Hawai‘i Hilo. In 2011, she participated in the Wahi Kūpuna Internship Program and has since been a field technician on various cultural resource management projects on both O‘ahu and Hawai‘i Island. She has a passion for preserving Hawai‘i’s unique cultural heritage and when she is not working, Lokelani enjoys spending time with her family.
