Lisa Hinano Rey graduated from the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa with a B.S. Natural Resource and Environmental Management, with an emphasis on Cultural Resource Management. She is proud to have attended Windward Community College where she earned a Certificate in the Marine Options Program. Ms Rey is a recipient of several merit based scholarships including a research fellowship at the Hawai'i Institute of Marine Biology. She has engaged in environmental restoration projects at several levels, including policy, education, and outreach, as well as hands on in-field community based restoration. Ms. Rey enjoys working on policy matters, such as the 2015 Genuine Progress Indicator for the Environmental Council Annual Report. She is passionate about mālama 'āina. This passion is driven by the awe inspiring beauty of Oceania which compels her to be a lifelong learner so that she can help to preserve and protect the land the ocean and the culture. She is fluent in English, Tahitian and French.
